Frequently Asked Questions

  • Finding the right therapist isn’t just about credentials—it’s about connection. You deserve to work with someone who really sees you, who gets your sense of humor, your values, your vibe. A good fit feels safe, collaborative, and nonjudgmental—like you can show up messy and still be met with compassion. That’s why I offer a free consultation call—so we can both get a sense of whether working together feels aligned, with zero pressure.

  • I offer both! You’re welcome to meet with me in person at my cozy office near Orlando, located at 315 N. Wymore Rd., Winter Park, FL 32789. I also offer virtual sessions for anyone living in Florida. Some clients love the convenience of logging in from home, while others prefer the grounding feeling of being face-to-face. We’ll choose the format that feels best for you—or even switch it up as needed.

  • Online therapy works a lot like in-person sessions—just without the drive (or needing to pretend you didn’t just roll out of bed). We’ll meet over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform where you can join from your phone, laptop, or tablet. As long as you’re somewhere private and comfortable in the state of Florida, we’re good to go. Some people curl up with tea and a blanket; others sit in their car between meetings. It’s your space to show up as you are.

  • My rates vary depending on the type and length of session:

    Traditional Therapy

    • Individual (53 minutes): $150

    • Couples (60 minutes): $180

    Extended Sessions

    • Extended Individual (90 minutes): $225

    • Extended Couples (90 minutes): $270

These are private pay rates and not the same as your insurance copay or co-insurance. If you're using out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement.

Sliding scale options are not available at this time.
If you're unsure which session length fits your needs, I’m happy to talk it through during a consultation.

  • Yes, I currently accept several insurance plans for individual therapy, including Aetna, United, UMR, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Optum.

Please note: I do not accept insurance for relationship counseling at this time.

If I'm not in-network with your plan, I can provide a superbill—a receipt you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. I recommend checking with your insurance provider to learn more about your specific coverage before scheduling.

  • The No Surprises Act is a federal law that protects you from unexpected healthcare costs. As your therapist, I’m required to provide you with a Good Faith Estimate—a clear outline of your expected therapy costs—before we begin working together. This estimate is based on the fees we agree on and how often we plan to meet.

  • Life happens, and sometimes plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice so I can offer that time to someone else.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments without notice, are subject to a $125 fee. Insurance providers typically don’t reimburse for missed or late-canceled sessions, so this fee may be higher than your usual copay.

If you’re running late, please reach out. If 15 minutes pass with no contact, I’ll consider the session a no-show and the fee will apply. Future sessions may be removed from the schedule until the balance is paid.

If you're sick, traveling, or can't make it in person, teletherapy may be an option—just let me know and we’ll do our best to stay flexible.

  • I work with teens (16+), adults, and couples. I do not currently offer therapy for young children or full-family counseling. If you’re looking for a family therapist or child specialist, I’d be happy to provide referrals to trusted colleagues.

  • The first session is a chance for us to slow down and take inventory—together. I’ll ask questions to get a holistic picture of who you are: your family dynamics, relationships, physical health, lifestyle, and any past experiences that shaped you. We’ll talk about what you’ve tried before (what helped, what didn’t), what’s been feeling hard lately, and what you hope will shift.

You don’t need to have perfect answers or a neat backstory. You just need to show up. This session is about getting curious, not rushing into “fixing.” Most people leave that first session saying something like, “Okay… that wasn’t as scary as I thought.” And honestly? That’s the vibe we’re going for.

  • There’s no magic number. Healing takes time—and it’s rarely a straight line. Some weeks you’re making breakthroughs, other weeks you're just trying to make it to your session without losing it in the Starbucks drive-thru. That’s normal.

Some people come in with a specific goal—like coping with a breakup or managing panic attacks—and find relief in just a few months. Others are working through deeper, more layered stuff (hello, childhood wounds), and need longer-term support. And then there are folks who treat therapy like a standing date with themselves—an ongoing space to grow, reflect, and recalibrate as life changes. There’s no right or wrong timeline here. We’ll figure out what makes the most sense for you.
