WHEN PEOPLE FINALLY GET THE WORDS, EVERYTHING SHIFTS.
I believe most people are walking around with an experience no one ever gave them language for.
The Questions
✓ Intuition vs. trauma response
✓ Why insight alone doesn’t heal
✓ Shame and self-blame
✓ Vulnerability to manipulation & control
The Approaches
✓ Nervous system regulation
✓ Somatic and body-based work
✓ Parts-work (IFS)
✓ Trauma-informed hypnotherapy
I’M CARA BOILEAU.
I explain what's happening in a body when the mind has completely lost the plot.
I'm a licensed therapist and certified hypnotherapist, endlessly curious about why people do what they do, especially the coping that looks messy from the outside and clicks into place the second you know the backstory. I work with trauma, anxiety, and grief, and I say it all in words people can actually take home.
A few of my signature talks:
-
A gut feeling and a trauma response come from the same body, and both say listen to me. One is worth following. The other is an old pattern in a convincing costume. I walk audiences through how to tell them apart, both the neuroscience and the felt experience, so they can stop mistaking fear for wisdom.
-
At least, nobody thinks they're joining one. Coercive control runs quietly through relationships, churches, MLMs, wellness circles, and workplaces, and the on-ramp always looks reasonable from the inside. I break down how manipulation actually works on a nervous system, why intelligence and education are no protection, and how people rebuild the instinct to trust their own no.
-
The stages model set everyone up to fail. Real grief keeps bleeding into the present at inconvenient times, and it shows up for far more than death: the job, the marriage, the version of your life you thought you were getting. I talk about what grief actually does in the body, why it doesn't resolve on schedule, and how people carry it without pretending they're over it.
-
Body-based healing gets written off as vague and fluffy. It's neither. What's actually happening when you work below the neck, why it reaches what conversation can't, and how the body holds what the mind talks over.
FOR CLINICIANS
Training for therapists who already work in the deep end.
Hypnotic Language for Resistant Parts
When a protector part won't step back and the session stalls, there's a quieter way through, borrowed from clinical hypnosis and built for IFS. A focused training for therapists who already work with parts, somatic tools, or trance and want to braid them together. Live demonstration included.
Available as a workshop, CE training, or conference session.
WORKSHOPS
Workshops that don't feel like webinars.
Dating Detox: MANifest That Sh*t
Everyone learned to spot red flags. Nobody taught them why they keep dating them. A small-cohort workshop where attachment theory, nervous system regulation, and values-based practice meet the actual dating app on your actual phone.
Conscious Creativity: Meaning-Making & Mindfulness
Co-facilitated with Dr. Kelsey Evans-Amalu. Hands-on work in felt-sense awareness, flow states, and creative practice as a way back into the body.
